This week on Sober Stories, we had the opportunity to interview Alex McRoberts. (S01/E007) Alex is a 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Life Coach, entrepreneur, podcaster, and Ontario Certified Teacher. She has taught yoga internationally, in Canada, where she is from, Kuwait, where she called home for five years. She now resides in Bali, Indonesia. When Alex became sober in 2019, yoga played a key role in her sober journey. In 2020, Alex founded the Mindful Life Practice Community and Sober Curious Yoga, an online yoga community with participants from all over the world who are changing their relationship with alcohol using mindfulness techniques such as yoga, meditation, community and journaling. She also hosts the Sober Yoga Girl Podcast.
This week on Sober Stories, we had the opportunity to interview Tori Felder of @theretiredpartygirl.(S01/E006) Tori is the founder of The Retired Party Girl, an online community for sober-curious and sober women to connect and celebrate sobriety. They’re changing the way society views sobriety by making recovery and wellness spaces joyful, fun, social, and empowering. Tori is also in grad school for counseling, and will be entering the therapy world after graduation.
This week on Sober Stories, we had the opportunity to interview Amanda E. White of the popular @therapyforwomen Instagram account. (S01/E001) Amanda is a licensed therapist, the founder of Therapy for Women Center in Philadelphia, and the author of “Not Drinking Tonight, A Guide to Creating a Sober Life You Love.” In our conversation with Amanda, we talked about everything from how seeking therapy for her eating disordered led her to sobriety, to what the mental health field is getting wrong about Alcohol Use Disorder, to how Amanda cares for herself and her sobriety while keep all of the plates spinning.
This week on Sober Stories, we had the opportunity to interview Sarah Pottieger. (S01/E003) Sarah is an HR Director by day, and a sobriety advocate during every bit of her free time. In our conversation with Sarah, we talked about her experience getting married while sober, what it has been like to make sober friends, how mental health like depression and anxiety intersect with alcohol, and so much more.
When we see ourselves in others' stories, and when we share our own stories, we are able to connect and heal on a deep, juicy level. We are the only multimedia platform telling the stories of folks all across the "sober" spectrum, with storytelling of hope, honesty, inspiration, and at least a fewwww sparkling water jokes.
